Bhutan Trekkers

Bhutan 2007

This was the adventure of a lifetime, experiencing the untouched wonders of Bhutan and exploring the exotic and exclusive country while supporting the Daniel Bryant Center!  The first itinerary option was Hiker’s Paradise, a cultural tour of Bhutan with active day hikes for those who wanted to explore the country.  The second option was Sacred Summits, a trek in Bhutan to Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake Base Camps, a more rigorous climb including camping and climbing to an elevation of 13,268 feet.  Both trips left on October 8, 2007 and returned on October 20, 2007.

Ecuador 2006

From June 5 - June 16, Bob Bryant and a dedicated team of climbers attempted to climb to the summit of Cotopaxi, a peak with an elevation of 19,347 feet! Although the climbers were turned back before they reached the summit due to weather, the team embraced the difficulty of the trip. As Sally Arnold commented on the trip blog, "I just kept telling myself that I had to keep going–the path was not easy and it was not meant to be easy, the same as it is not easy for our youth to climb up and away from alcohol and drug abuse, and these thoughts kept me going up the mountain."

Peru 2004

Bob Bryant and his friends reached the peak of Peru's 20,000 ft. Mt. Pisco in memory of Bob's son, Danny, and others who have died of drug abuse.  The goal was to prevent this tragedy from happening to others and to keep our kids drug-free.  Your pledges helped complete the purchase of a permanent facility for the Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Treatment Center.

Santa Barbara Community Climb 2001

2001 marked the first year Summit for Danny held a fund-raising climb in which the whole Santa Barbara community could participate.  Santa Barbara's own picturesque mountainsides provided the perfect locale for climbers to make a difference with every step they took.  More than 500 hikers, ranging from professional trailblazers to groups of teens and families of four, took part in the celebration raising over...toward the Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Treatment Center.

Canadian Arctic 2000

On August 21, 2000 this intrepid crew of souls braved the Canadian Arctic to climb a Summit for Danny and all our kids, dedicating time, energy, and money toward the cause.  Each of these climbers brought their own unique experience and background to the event.

Kilimanjaro 1999

Summit for Danny (and all our kids) began back in 1999 at the base of Tanzania's formidable Mount Kilimanjaro.  Local businessman Bob Bryant, whose beloved son Danny died four years earlier of a drug overdose, scaled the 20,000-foot peak with the aspirations of raising money to build an Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center and turning his personal tragedy into hope for others.  He succeeded.  The first Summit for Danny raised over half a million dollars toward the project.
